Mercer House 1842At the heart of the community
Set up in 2010, Mercer House 1842 was formed by a group of local people to look after Mercer House, a grade II listed building which was the former home of John Mercer (1791-1866). The company also leads the way in delivering a range of services within the local community.
Mercer House is an iconic grade II listed building situated in the award winning Mercer Park in the township of Clayton le Moors. Built in 1802 by Thomas Hargreaves and originally called Oakenshaw Cottage, it was sold to John Mercer (1791-1866) in the mid 1800’s.
